Saturday Beefcake: What's For Lunch?

And, if you're going to invite someone over, it should be someone as religious as this young man:

Cabbage Roll Ups




Onion, one medium, diced
Garlic CLoves, two, chopped
Oil, canola/olive mixture, two tablespoons
Tomato paste, one small can
Pomi Marinara Sauce, half a container
Flat Leaf Parsley, chopped, one tablespoon
Kosher Salt, at least one quarter teaspoon
Ground Black Pepper, to taste
Oregano, to taste
Honey, to taste
Cabbage, one medium, outer layer removed, cleaned and steamed
Cheddar Cheese, grated, six tablespoons
Brown Rice, two cups, cooked
Egg, one
Curry Powder, one teaspoon



1. Saute onion in oil until golden. Set aside.
2. Combine the marinara and paste with three tablespoons of water, salt, pepper, oregano and honey in a saucepan. Blend in two tablespoons of the onion and garlic. Cover. Simmer.
3. Mix parsley, rice, egg, two tablespoons of the sauce with the remaining garlic and onion. Add cheese, salt and curry.
4. Spread out the cabbage leaves and fill with the rice mixture. Roll up. Secure with toohpicks.
5. Simmer in the sauce ten to fifteen minutes.
