Tuesday's Talent: Speaking of Which, Thorsten Kaye
Thorsten Kaye's conversation with Carolyn Hinsey. Mr. Kaye will be at www.pozevent.com--there will more than one really great surprise that evening!
Carolyn: Zach finally busts Kendall for sleeping with Aidan this week. What's your take on that?
Thorsten: It's important that it finally comes out, because after a while people don't care anymore.
Carolyn: Don't you love that Zach interrupts her when she starts to tell him and says "I already knew"?
Thorsten: Yes, that I loved. But she still got to say it.
Carolyn: How did Zach know?
Thorsten: He knows this woman, so he knew something was going on. They weren't subtle.
Carolyn: Is Kendall apologetic? She should be horrified!
Thorsten: Yeah, but she goes into protective mode straightaway. She always feels like she's alone and she doesn't have anybody and she's a child of rape, etc. Zach isn't busting her for what she did. He's busting her for what she didn't do. She should have told him the truth. These two people love each other. If you don't tell the truth, then you're not a team. That's what a marriage is. "When things go sour, I should be the person you want to talk to about it. Not your mother. You should know me well enough to know that you could talk to me about anything." And if they don't trust each other, then they shouldn't be together anymore.
Carolyn: Is Zach going to confide in anyone about what happened?
Thorsten: I hope it's Myrtle.
Carolyn: What does this do to Zach and Kendall's marriage?
Thorsten: I know they're trying to be human and understand and civil and adult about it. Whether that 's going to happen or not, I don't know.
Carolyn: Maybe they'll stay together for the sake of the kids. Where are their kids?
Thorsten: They're in college.
Carolyn: This is a turning point for them. You must like that.
Thorsten: I like when things aren't status quo. You know my deal with all story-telling: cause and consequence. [Her cheating and lying] doesn't mean things have to be over, but they definitely have to be different. That changes people. We have explosions (at AMC) and then people come out the same. We can't come out the same from this one.
Carolyn: Have you talked to any of the AMC bosses to make sure that happens?
Thorsten: No. I think they know what needs to happen here. I don't know why else you would write drama, if there's no conflict. We've been missing that a little bit.
Carolyn: But if conflict breaks up a popular couple, what will keep those fans watching?
Thorsten: Because it could be the start of something. This is not how it's going to be the whole time. Maybe the rooting value of you tuning in is to see if there's another couple you would enjoy better. Maybe there's something you don't see coming.
Carolyn: Like Zach and Greenlee?
Thorsten: The real Greenlee?
Carolyn: Yes, the real Greenlee. You are a troublemaker.
Thorsten: No, you've got to put that in. Do not take it out. That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever f----ing heard.
Carolyn: You mean the promos touting Rebecca's return?
Thorsten: Yeah.
Carolyn: I liked Sabine at the end.
Thorsten: Me too. She turned a corner. But regardless, they asked her to do a job and she did it well. Whether somebody likes you or not, that's out of your hands. You're just doing what you're asked to do. And a lot of people liked her. It's a fictional character. There's no "real" Greenlee.
Carolyn: They meant the original one.
Thorsten: They didn't say the original one. They said the real one. It was rude, and it was completely unnecessary. But that's water under the bridge.
Carolyn: Back to Zach and the real Greenlee...
Thorsten: I don't know. Like I said, all avenues are open. She's going to be pissed that Zach didn't tell her about Aidan and Kendall, but that's not his story to tell. That's Aidan's story to tell. Mr. Super-model should f---ing step up and tell that story.

Thorsten: He doesn't remember any of it. He's still looking for his car keys.
