Having the help and support of the team at Law & Order: SVU is something that to POZ team's AIDS Walk fund-raising is not new and there is a reliable source of Chris Meloni's fans who bid out of loyalty and devotion. This year the team over at Law & Order: Criminal Intent decided to help out with their own autographed scripts and an autographed head shot of the ultra-talented Vincent D'Onofrio. The dilemma was where to find the D'Onofrio demographic so to speak. It happened very quickly and the auction was on its way. In these parts one should have preferred that Cousin Tim on Desperate Housewives might have ended up in bed with Mike, Tom, Carlos, or even young Andrew. Well, if he were going to end up in delicto flagrante it might as well be the delciously wicked Katherine as played by Dana Delaney. What's important and even more delicious is that Cousin Tim's persona inhabits the body of Chris Carmack who was Mr. Sloan who also got entertained in Joe Orton's Entertaining Mr. Sloan two years ago in New York. The first song you hear here has the unique sound of Randy Crawford's vocal from her first solo recording, "Someday I'll Fly Away." The young man pictured here places emphasis on the particular pathos of yearning and love interruptus. This is a voice that is an RnB andJ azz delicacy. Ms Crawford came to the forefront as a vocal interpreter for Joe Sample's Crusaders. This is a voice that can impart much that is profound in the human experience. There is posted a video of the song from 1980 found on YouTube. Esther Satterfield is a very similar artistic creature if not vocally similar. Chuck Mangione is to Satterfield as Joe Sample is to Crawford. Randy Crawford was certainly more prolific recording wise, but the sincerity in the delivery is about the same.
