Monday Tarot Meditation: Ace of Cups

Image
This is the most emotional card of the deck and one of the most powerful of the minor arcana. Suggested here is an emotional upheaval whereby new feelings are substituted for old. Such new feelings at once challenge and transform. As the emotions swing radically from one point to another, there is a concomitant and equally strong change at all levels. Feeling, in this case, precedes the structure of thought or of action. In the individual this may mean a turnabout in emotions toward another person, or it may mean a total reversal of values. In society, such values in conflict may mean the passion of a new religion, or of a new political movement. The card represents a tremendous outpouring of group energy to effect change. The fact that a profound change in feelings has been responsible for something new may not be obvious. What goes on here tends to transcend external appearances and, most certainly, is related to activity within the collective unconscious. The Ace of Cups is really ...

Saturday Beefcake: The Ritz

Image
Something Italian and to the point for lunch in honour of Roundabout's recent revival of The Ritz . OK, Terrence McNally might have written the Italian characters better and with less broad strokes. The romp of a play was nevertheless very enjoyable and not without stereotypical male eye candy. Actually not a single character was painted subtly, especially the side splitting inducing Googie Gomez. OK, Ryan Idol and Justin Clynes may not be Italian. But who wouldn't want to have them for lunch? Their presence in The Ritz was noteworthy as they were integral parts of that marvelously fleshy background canvas. This simple recipe is meaty and creamy. Penne al Forno Heavy Cream, two and one quarter cups Parmigiano-Reggiano , one and a half cups plus, grated Penne, cooked al dente . Prosciutto, thinly sliced and coarsely chopped Oven Pre-Heated 375F 1. Bring cream, most of the cheese, three quarter teaspoon black pepper, and three quarter teaspoon sea salt to a boil over moderate he...

Saturday Beefcake: Good Morning, Wentworth.

Image
It's morning in Gay Town, USA and since last summer when Perez Hilton insisted that Wentworth Miller was secretly involved with Luke MacFarlane, cyberspace airwaves have been burning. There are more than one thread on Datalounge discussing the possibility. Some fans are actually upset with the possibility. Strange. Anyway, it seems there are quite a few human beings, gay and otherwise, who would not mind waking up next to the very sexy Mr. Miller. In DNA #92, the Australian gay periodical in the "Sexiest Men Alive" issue, Wentworth takes over the number four spot accompanied by an article that addresses the issue of Wentworth's sexuality. Here it is, along with a recipe for breakfast fare with the fond hope that it is indeed Luke who wakes up next to Wentworth. But if it happens to be someone else or no one at all, his sexiness is very much appreciated no matter which side of the focaccia he butters. Julee Rosso’s Breakfast Focaccia Potatoes, 500 grams, preferably Yu...
