Tuesday Talent: Branden Blinn
This movie was created by Branden Blinn: Crim, D., Stanley and several of their friends, following an intense but friendly game of basketball are bantering back and forth in the locker room when a mischievous gesture by Stanley, is returned by a homophobic litany from Crim. Crim’s over the top reaction carries into hatred moments later in the shower when Stanley pushes the envelope further. As everyone’s post workout glow and exuberance drains from the room, Crim’s roommate D. in particular seems most affected by Crim’s attack. After locking eyes with D., an inconsolable Crim storms out leaving D. to deal with a reality he has not been willing to but must now face. When D. arrives home for dinner that night we begin to piece the puzzle together as it is increasingly revealed that D. and Crim are and actually have been, lovers – for years. Saturday Morning Beefcake: Some of Our Best
"Good Morning Kiss" was the perfect introduction over two decades ago to Carmen Lundy, excellent jazz vocalist who too often goes unheralded. Good Morning Kiss was the album that she produced on a label she created back in 1985. Included here is also the perfect "Perfect Strangers" a song often performed by multi-talented Ilene Kristen in her cabaret act. Lundy encouraged Ilene to do it and Kristen does it perfect justice. "Kiss" does everything it is supposed to about the morning after the night before when two people came together. Selling a good song is simply celebrating the human experience and making it beautiful just as photographer Jeff Palmer did with these beautiful black and white photos.
