Meditative Monday: The Empress
Perhaps the Empress made an appearance in today's draw is because we find the two feminine principles/capacities of Venus and the Moon in the martial signs of Scorpio and Aries. Mars itself is in maternal Cancer where the Moon is domiciled and Venus is exalted. The Sun is in Venutian Taurus.
Robert Wang tells us in Tarot Psychology:
Jung devoted considerable attention to the interactions between archetypal Mother and archetypal Son--a relationship which must be understood at many levels. Symbolically, there is nothing in manifestation but Male and Female which through their interaction produce the Son (and thus, they become Father and Mother), who is the perfect balance of their opposites, and who is the "Perfected Self."
... we move from inner conversation with our own mother to conversation with the archetypal Mother of mythologies and of world religions. Such transition of focus, and deepening, happens frequently in meditation.
