Alec Musser! Here! Now!

There will be no disagreement from these quarters that being a handsome man opens doors for an aspiring actor and when that actor is as exceptionally fit as Alec Musser, the bar is raised very high.

What needs to be said loudly and clearly is that Alec's merits as an actor go far beyond being set dressing. He has a delivery that places him on the level of a professional who takes all into consideration when he delivers an important line. CoL has been paying attention.

There is now another man there in the form of Dixie’s half brother Del Henry. It was a decade or so ago when he was in Pine Valley last and thoroughly enjoyed by the afternoon drinkers at Philadelphia’s Bike Stop under the guidance of the late Matt Hoffmann. Then it was Winsor Harman getting all the attention. Now Del Henry’s character is inhabited by a worthy heir and winner of [gasp] the realty series on Soapnet, Alec Musser.

Mr. Musser more than holds his own with Michael E. Knight as Tad. Some diehard fans are looking forward to future scenes with the equally intense Jacob Young.

Aug 30, 2005:
The newcomer, Mr. Musser as Del Henry held his own with Canary and Knight all the same, but the much anticipated approach/avoidance dance with nephew JR Chandler (Jacob Young) did not live up to expectations. Perhaps it leaves something to look forward to. Most of us should consider ourselves lucky that we do not own mansions in Pine Valley or Llanview. What use is all that money with people bursting in left and right at any given moment? Unless of course, the burster is Uncle Del in the person of Alec Musser.

Yes, he's easy on the eyes and has got that je ne sais quoi required of all of those who eventually command the attention of those who are watching but he's got a wit to be appreciated. In the current issue of Soap Opera Digest (December 6, 2005) in response to the question, "Who should your character have a fling with?" he had this to say:

I haven't had the opportunity to womanize at all yet on the show and Del, having been in Pine Valley for a few months, I think is probably getting a little anxious! But he's sort of an opportunist, you know? Del doesn't want to work too hard, so I'm thinking probably Amanda ... From what I understand, she's sort of the town biscycle. I'm thinking Del might want to take his spin around the block.

In our plush offices here at Column of Life you might be able to hear Bernice bursting into, "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life ..."

Having a conversation with Alec Musser involved talking about his good experience working on All My Children and it did not get around to discussing his nutritional tips for staying in the flawless shape he's in, not to mention that not a small part of his perfection is his creative thinking as well as emotional depth. Some were hooked even before knowing all of that.

July 14, 2006:

It's no secret that at least one of our correspondents made the acquaintance of this young man at an appropriate time on the streets of the Naked City. He belongs here and if, the powers that be use their powers for good, Alec, some day soon, should be on the road to his true goal. Thank you, Soap Opera Digest, for pointing him out one more time. Hanging out with his on screen nephew can't be a bad thing. Both of them are not only physical perfection but also no slouches in the acting department. Chances are their fans won't be let down.

The viewers know that Alec gets it, but the writers seem to forget that there is a deep history between Del and Kendall. Well, between Del and a lot of people. All My Children has an embarassment of riches that they are unwilling to spend.

Therefore, for one of our favourites, we are posting this missive and the link:

Go here for an online petition for Mr. Alec Musser.

This petition has been started by my fan club to encourage the producers
at All My Children ... to write a stronger story line for my character Del.
I would really appreciate your signing it and forwarding it to your friends.
I know this seems incredibly trivial, but this is honestly something the networks pay close attention to.

I love you all. Thank you.

Alec
