Saturday Beefcake

Pilfering the Internet for appropriate images can be an interesting task, especially when inserting more than one term into the search engine. This site is nothing if not consistent and it seems that themes just fall into place almost by themselves. Looking for Brazilian beefcake and such to go along with this week's recipe, which although discovered in Italy is referred to as Manzo Brasiliano, i.e. Brazilian Beef, brought up photos of young men from Hungary who are practitioners of Brazilian jiu-jitsu or grappling and where many more sights are featured on this site. And where there appears an article with this quote: JoJoin MatBattle.com guest writer Juliana Protásio for a unique female perspective on 'the powerful images of sensuality between men' which comprise the supremely homoerotic phenomenon that is Brazilian submission wrestling.

In the meantime it's time to serve up yet another dish:

Manzo Brasiliano

1 Kilo of Beef cut up for stewing
unsalted butter and/or peanut oil
4 quartered potatoes
1 fennel bulb sliced thinly
1 red bell pepper chopped
1 cup of coffee
1 small spoonful of ground cinnamon
cloves
1 glass of dry white wine
flour

1. Sear the meat in the butter and/or oil
2. Combine the remaining ingredients except the flour. It's best to add the potatoes and fennel perhaps a little later.
3. Simmer until the meat is tender. This will take from 45 to 90 minutes.
4. Use the flour to thicken the ensuing sauce. Add it gradually and from the side.

(For four normal people or one to two grapplers.)
