The Wednesday Word: George and Elisabetta

We posted this in 2008~Just Sayin' Usually our Friday focus is on an event that will happen in the future. There might have a been a post or two on an event that has passed. At any rate, there is an effort to focus on high minded events with fund-raising and awareness in mind. Well, we are being a bit more frivolous this evening, but there is mention of a charity within. Anyway, last evening, Rosemary Clooney's nephew, George, was in Rome promoting his movie, Leatherheads . Supper was at Rome's Eden Hotel. In attendance, was George's very good friend, Manuele Malenotti and Renee whatshername. Included here are some interesting photos--just saying--and some historical quotes. "Humour Makes a Man Stylish" Effortlessly stylish, George Clooney mixes casual and classic in a way that makes him a star off-screen as much as on. The solstice started at 7:28 a.m. EDT (11:28 UTC), and at 1:16 p.m. EDT, the sun will be the highest it ever gets in the sky. People all over the Northern Hemisphere are taking advantage of the extra daylight with plenty of festivals, parties and traditions. The Druids, an ancient religion and culture, celebrate today as the "wedding of Heaven and Earth," and it is one of the most important days in their calendar (they hold festivals eight times a year to mark stages in the solar and lunar cycles).
